To the Maxi...

well it's official... I'm seeing maxi dresses everywhere this summer in Riverside. And if you don't know where Riverside is, it's a desert like city in Southern California. I've been here for 4 years and lots of the outfits here consist of tees and jeans and flip flops. Very SoCal of them.
I guess I don't blame them much because summer in Riverside range from 100 to 110 degree.
You don't get a lot of options here when you sweating a liter of sweat a day. -____-

But anywho, I've noticed that this year we are really up in our fashion game.
I...am...so....proud
Summer outfits have deviated from the white tees and jeans to maxi dresses, straw hats, printed blouses, and I think I saw someone wear Harem pants the other day. Dare devil.

So I've decided to show some maxi dresses so if you're ever shopping and you never thought maxi dresses were for you, you should give that maxi dress in the window a second look.

They can be wore in many occasion:



Casual.


Formal

It just depends on your color and fabric choice. If it's more earthly tone and the fabric is more jersey then you can pull it off for a more casual and daytime look. If the fabric is silky then it will do better to wear it to a dinner date.

It's also works for a lot of body shapes and sizes.
Don't think because you're short or busted that you can't wear it. Estelle (above) is a more busted figure but she pulls it off just fine.


For petite and more non curvier ladies, it's nice too. You might have to get it tailored so it doesn't drag on the floor but that's easy.
If you want to make it look like you have more curves, a belt would help.


And with some maxi dresses you don't have to wear too much accessories because it's elaborate as it is. Not wearing accessories in Riverside summer is perfect because you don't want something heavy hanging from your neck. it's just too hot.

Ok so we may not have a penis, but that will not standing in our way. We will walk where we want, talk the way we want to and dress however we please.

When I was little, my mom always yelled at me because I sat with my legs opened and talked really loud. She was always saying, "A lady should not speak and act like that."
Now I just thought my mom was a little too traditional
but as I grew older, I started to find out everyone thought that way whether they showed it or not.
People always thought you were a slut if you sat with your legs open
and they thought you were vulgar or "manly" if you spoke loudly.
It's called projecting your voice, people. haha

Anyways, so I was browsing style.com and I came across Moschino Resort Collection
I love the colors in this collection. It's not too obscure that you can't wear it to work and it looks fun enough that you can wear it out too.
And that's what we love right, an outfit that is multi-functional and multi- event- wearing.


I would love to go to a dinner party dressed like this and all the other ladies are in dresses. You would look so pimp. :)

HELLO HELLO everyone out there in computer land :)

i apologize for not updating it for I think a very longggg time now.
I've been extremely busy with things.
but
C'est la vie
and now I'm back.

Just an update on what I've been up to since I was gone.
I've cordinated, hosted, and fundraised for 2 urban artshows in Riverside
Performed spoken words for Freedom of the Mind, a showcase at UCR and
APSP's banquet.
I'm also going to be graduating UCR and attending FIDM in october.
This is going to be a very very exciting year
I'm going to be moving to LA :D

and I'm also very happy to be inspired enough by other bloggers to get back to working on my own blog

Chill days

Chill days are harder to come around the older you get.
I'm going to be so busy this quarter.

Today, i went to the mall and chill at our local coffee shop.

got a new camera for christmas
so i got to take the new camera out for a run.

2mex and a fight

ahhh... so here's the story
me and a couple of my girlfriends went to a 2mex Christmas concert yesterday at the Regent theater in LA. Was totally pumped up to see him perform. There was about 10 other performers there too so it was like 1am when he performed and he came on stage and did like one song and a fight broke out in the back and he was telling them to stop but they didn't so the management told everyone to get out cuz the group fighting was throwing chairs and shit.
sigh. I was sooo disappointed. waited since 7pm to see him perform so i was cussing all the way to the car. jeeza. I was dressed so cute too. sigh didn't even get a chance to take any pictures.
I'm telling you there were too many guys in there that's why. And a lot of guys and a lot of alcohol never goes very well together.
I guess I should've seen it coming, it IS a hip hop show in LA. something was bound to happen.

It just sucks because I was really looking forward to that concert. hmph.

I put together an outfit just for fun of what I usually would wear: urban hip hop style. lol. well at least how I interpret it as.
I think it's kute.

anyways, on the brighter note. I'm going to be heading out on a roadtrip on the 26th with a couple of friends. We're going to drive up to San Fran. It should be fun. Hopefully I get a new >.< camera for christmas cuz my camera is broken. Hence the thick paragraphs and no photographs of my outfit.

Anyways, just an update. I got into FIDM. other people might say it's not a big deal and that everyone gets into FIDM but I'm happy because although small, it is still a big accomplishment in my heart.
anyways, last week went out for a celebration with my girls.
This one guy tried to flirt with my friend and asked her why we were so happy and she said because we're celebrating because I got into FIDM and he said really like it's not big of a deal. and that's when my friend stopped talking to him. lol. that's what you get.
The cars passing by must be like wat a bunch of camera whores. but i needed a full outfit shot.
