2mex and a fight

ahhh... so here's the story
me and a couple of my girlfriends went to a 2mex Christmas concert yesterday at the Regent theater in LA. Was totally pumped up to see him perform. There was about 10 other performers there too so it was like 1am when he performed and he came on stage and did like one song and a fight broke out in the back and he was telling them to stop but they didn't so the management told everyone to get out cuz the group fighting was throwing chairs and shit.
sigh. I was sooo disappointed. waited since 7pm to see him perform so i was cussing all the way to the car. jeeza. I was dressed so cute too. sigh didn't even get a chance to take any pictures.
I'm telling you there were too many guys in there that's why. And a lot of guys and a lot of alcohol never goes very well together.
I guess I should've seen it coming, it IS a hip hop show in LA. something was bound to happen.

It just sucks because I was really looking forward to that concert. hmph.

I put together an outfit just for fun of what I usually would wear: urban hip hop style. lol. well at least how I interpret it as.
I think it's kute.

anyways, on the brighter note. I'm going to be heading out on a roadtrip on the 26th with a couple of friends. We're going to drive up to San Fran. It should be fun. Hopefully I get a new >.< camera for christmas cuz my camera is broken. Hence the thick paragraphs and no photographs of my outfit.

9 days till xmas

wooo
sorry for not updating. had finals and shit to do
but i'm here now and that's what matters. haha.
Anyways, just an update. I got into FIDM. other people might say it's not a big deal and that everyone gets into FIDM but I'm happy because although small, it is still a big accomplishment in my heart.
anyways, last week went out for a celebration with my girls.
This one guy tried to flirt with my friend and asked her why we were so happy and she said because we're celebrating because I got into FIDM and he said really like it's not big of a deal. and that's when my friend stopped talking to him. lol. that's what you get.
The cars passing by must be like wat a bunch of camera whores. but i needed a full outfit shot.
love love love my stereo purse. it plays music. woot woot.

i feel used. hehe

waiting for the bus at 2 in the morning.

i can't wait for the 21st cuz i'm going to a 2mex show in LA

my portfolio

Due to the fact that I tend to hype up a situation so much that I hype myself into being too nervous sometimes,
I'm trying to not think about my interview with the FIDM director tomorrow.
>_< I finally finished the portfolio I'm suppose to turn into them yesterday at like 12am One day, procrastination is going to come back and bite me in the ass. Here it is:

Leave some comments for me, wont chu?

oh Marc, you loveable you

Soooo I was trying to take a picture of my outfit the other day and my camera died on me.
so excuse me if I don't post much of my outfit until I get a new camera... which will be awhile cuz I am broke broke broke.

anyways after reading an article on Marc Jacobs in Rolling Stone.
I decided to take a look at his recent spring line.
ahh i could see why everyone loves him so much.

A traditional silhouette but a different use of fabric mixes. very interesting collection. Heard clashing patterns are in this season but personally I believe you should wear whatever you want.

I want this little sling bag for some reason. looks so unique.IF you get a chance, I recommend reading Marc Jacobs' recent interview with Rolling Stone.
Shows a total different side I didn't know he had.

Well until next time fashion lovers....

starving for creativity

"dream?
my dream is to be happy doing what I do and be the best at it too. I want my name up in lights.
I want to be the best fashion designer I can be."

that's basically how I answered my counselor who was interviewing me.
I'm applying for FIDM, the fashion institute of design and merchandising in LA.
She nodded at me when I answered her question of what my dream was.
haha. I bet she has heard that answer like a zillion time so she humored me with a nod.

She also scheduled me an appointment to meet with the director of fidm in oc to have him take a look at my sketches and determine if I'm admitted or not.
I know I shouldn't be nervous because I heard they have a high percentage of admittance.
but still....
so this next week, I'm going to be sketching a lot
and choosing out my best.
Ahhh no pressure at all.

One thing I've done is set up what inspires me and what I want my theme to be.
I love shapes and bright colors so I'm going to build on that.
Here's a piece of my inspiration board...

The eye of the storm

The other day, I was looking through my cellphone planner to see what stuff is coming up next week and I realized that I am indeed in the eye of the storm this week because next week is packed. I'm going to be so busy, it's giving me a headache.

An counselor from FIDM called me the other day and I have an interview with her next tuesday.
sigh
I really don't know what to expect so I don't know what to do to prepare for it.
so right now, I'm just sticking with my plan of charming the hell out of her. lol.
Then I have midterms all week
and then I have to take a vietnamese placement test next thursday and I'm hoping to score high
enough to pass.

Ohhh... maybe I should start studying.... nahhhh. hehe
sigh
I am indeed the mother of all procrastinators.

Anyways, I'll worry about next week when next week comes. :) that's my mentality right now
so I don't get too stressed out.

right now, I'm dying to buy some shoes... that's another good way to relieve stress. :)

Gucci... oh my

oh i need to buy one pair of designer shoes before I die. That is my goal.

IT rained this morning

yay. i think fall is finally setting in in Riverside.
much appreciated but i wish it was sunny and chilly
i don't like gloomy days much. makes me sad and miss home
Gotta go to work in about 2 hours.... sigh. I wish someone would just give me money so I don't have to work at all. but that's impossible.
I've gotten pretty good at setting the self timer and running in the right spot. You can't even tell I was running huh?
lol.

My pen is my weapon that drains the life from me and leaves it on a paper for you to see

So if you didn't know, I love urban art.
There's something that attracts me there unlike other genre of art so most of the time when
I'm not online looking at fashion related stuff, I'm looking at urban art such as graffiti. I think fashion is an art in itself and that's why I decided to make a post for urban art.

One of my favorite urban artist is David Choe.
His artwork just never bore me, there's always something to look at. They're always a feast for your eyes.
Here's some example of his work...

yeah, i doodle sometimes during class too, it keeps me sane. School can really take a toll on me
if I didn't have a method to keep my sanity. ^___^

Boys boys boys

ahhh i can feel fall coming
the breeze is cooler
people are layering up a little more
and the nights are colder
yes i feel it coming
must reanalyze wardrobe to fit with the season.
went shopping at Forever 21 and H&M
some similarities was there was a lot of blazers and straight line garments.
ohhhh then I went online and saw the Spring 09 RTW line: Boy by Band of Outsiders
very simple and sleek lines. Girl meet boy kind of clothes. Put a nice black tight underneath
each outfit and it's Fall ready

miss Kirsten Dunst is the lovely model for this line:

I really like their collection. Colors: love it. Shape: love it.
The pieces are good by themself or put together

Looks a lot like basic pieces and worth the money.

i want internet.

ahhh so sorry for not updating
I actually took some pictures of my outfits
but we haven't gotten internet for our new apartment yet so I have to either go to school
or our local coffee stores to get internet and I am a very lazy person.

Anyways, yesterday was my bday
and I had made a dress for that
but ended up not wearing it
and then bought a dress but hemmed it too short
so I ended up not wearing that neither
so I ended up wearing this nice top my sister had in her closet.
lol
jeez I'm very picky when it comes to my outfits.

so as a bday present for myself, i went shopping. shopping by yourself can be very fun sometimes but not on your bday. it was ok. not as fun as I thought it would be.
Bought some stuff at Forever 21 and wetseal
I want to go thrifting though. Mainstream stores can get boring after a while.

so while my internet is on the way
I have resort to the only thing I can get my hands on that is fashion related on my laptop
random fashion pictures
and Sex and the City Episodes.
lol

New Beginnings.

AHhh
so I've finally managed to transfer all my crap from my old house to my new apartment
and since the apartment is smaller than my old house, my sister has given me an ultimatum to drop out some of my stuff or find a place to keep it neatly.

See the thing is I like to keep a lot of the stuff that has any ounce of sentimental values like movie tickets to little tinklets I find in the streets and I have a huge box of art supplies.

I guess since I've moved on. emotionally and physically from my past. I should throw away some of the useless emotions of the past too.
My old house had a lot of memories in it. I was sorta sad to part with it. I'm the type of person who gets attached to both people and things very easily. I spent a lot of time in that with my ex ex boyfriend and my ex boyfriend. A lot of shit has gone down in that small house but people move on and life goes on and there's no use in sticking stubbornly to the past.
The past is called the past because you're moving past and you aint nothing like you was before. (quote from Alicia Keys)

But the good thing about this new apartment besides it's scrawny lock that anyone can break, is that it has a very large walk in closet. That was the one thing that got me very excited for downgrading to this apartment.

So I promised myself that I will move on
and throw away useless junks of my past.
I will fill up that closet to its fullest potential
with shoes and outfits and hats and and
and.... love.
lol

My bday is coming up: SEPTEMBER 15!
and I've decided to make my bday dress from scrap.
I was going to buy white fabric but I don't have that much money left so I'm resorting
to making something fabulous with some of the silk yellow fabric that I had left over.
I can't wait to get started
but as the procastinator I am
I was suppose to start yesterday.

when i get to sketching it out
and making it
i'll post up pictures
^___^

whenever you think i'm materialistic for wanting to be a fashion designer

I think of Meryl Streep said in The Devil Wears Prada when Anne Hathaway laughed at the staff for being so picky over two red belts that looked the same....

“This… ’stuff’? Oh… ok. I see, you think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select out, oh I don’t know, that lumpy blue sweater, for instance, because you’re trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back. But what you don’t know is that that sweater is not just blue, it’s not turquoise, it’s not lapis, it’s actually cerulean. You’re also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002, Oscar De La Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then I think it was Yves St Laurent, wasn’t it, who showed cerulean military jackets? And then cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of 8 different designers. Then it filtered down through the department stores and then trickled on down into some tragic casual corner where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin. However, that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs and so it’s sort of comical how you think that you’ve made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you’re wearing the sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room. From a pile of stuff.”

Love it!

The City of Angels

my deepest apologies for not updating sooner. It has been a very hectic few weeks for me
with school and work and moving.
yes that's right.
I'm moving to an apartment with my sister and I'm very excited
but what I'm not so excited for is that fact that i have to pack.
bleh....
it takes my sister like 30 minutes to pack because she doesn't have a lot of stuff like me. I tend
to always save like tidbits that have no use but I still keep for sentimental reason. My sister likes to throw those out but i like to keep them in little boxes around my room so you can just imagine how long and hard it's going to be for me to pack and throw some of my stuff away.
It's like the death penalty. I don't know if I'm letting the right ones go. ahha.

Anyways last thursday I went to LA to attend a going away party for my friend Cecilia whose going to study abroad for 4 months in italy. We're very close so it's kinda hard on us to see her go but she made us promise not to cry or else she would cry so during the whole night we sway away from that subject.
We ended up going to the Rooftop Nightlife at the Standard hotel. It was a lounge and it was beautiful.
When we entered we made our way to the escalator and this bouncer told us that we were so small and kute and that we should get our little butts up there.
LOL. that made our night.
this is what I wore. Just a little see through but it was very kuttteee....

me after drinking a sex on the beach.... showing too much love.

I realize that I'm going to be so happy when I move to LA next year. There's such a diversity of people.
so excited.

Sun Child

Summer means melted ice cream, sunblock, and the sun child in everyone coming out to play.
We put away our tights and bring out the shorts.
Our pale skins finally get to see the light of day
But regardless of all of this, we still don't have a clue of what to wear.

Well what I like to do on days like this where I'm disgusted at my small sized closet.
I don't go out and buy more summer clothes
I try to come up with different outfits from the clothes I already have.
Saves money, Expands your creativity

One thing I like to do is go on style.com and snoop around to see if anything is of my taste.
because some days you just need a little help and inspiration to get your outfit going.

Photobucket
Something about PacMan just puts a smile on my face and the color are mucho appropriate for the weather. Remember black attracts and colors reflect heat.

But if you do decide to wear black because you just love black so much you cant even go one season without wearing it like me. ^___^ you would want to wear light fabric and like this lovely lady who shows just enough skin but not too much.
Photobucket

As much as I love black and white, I love bright colors and bright color dresses are just precious.
Photobucket

Photobucket

well if you want to see more pictures and find your own taste, go on style.com and do snoop around there for inspirations.

peace!
